Missionary Miracles in the Far West Missouri Stake - December 2024

Faith is essential as we seek to accomplish the Lord’s work. We need to learn to exercise faith to set goals and act in faith to achieve them. Our stake experienced a miracle during the last month. The missionaries together set a goal to help eight people be baptized this month, and then they acted and prayed in faith to achieve it! Seven people have been baptized so far, and one more person getting baptized this evening will accomplish this goal. What a blessing and miracle this Christmas season!

The missionaries have been praying every day at 9:30 p.m. for the gathering of Israel and for missionary work in our stake, and this focused faith has brought miracles. We would like to invite each member to join the rest of the stake in doing the same. Please choose to exercise faith to set and achieve goals, and please join the missionaries in praying for the gathering of Israel here in our stake every day, either at 9:30 p.m., or at another regular time that works for you. The Lord will bless us as we choose to have faith in Him!

The missionaries were able to find a new friend they hadn’t been in contact with for a while! They had talked with him in the past but couldn’t get back in contact because he had their number blocked. A member of the branch, however, talked to the friend and helped him unblock the missionaries so he could start learning about the gospel again! He has been to church twice now and is doing very well.

The missionaries also went to visit a friend who had been taught in the past, and someone completely different opened the door and was interested in learning more! The missionaries came back with some members and learned that the friend had kept his commitment to read 3 Nephi 11 about Christ’s visit to the Americas. The new friend said that they had answered his prayer, and when he came to church, he met many members and felt very comfortable and at home with them.

Another friend had a baptismal date but was pretty unsure about it. A member couple in the branch contacted him and talked about it, and now he’s better prepared, more comfortable, and excited to be baptized today (December 22nd)!

A few months ago, a sister who had been in the church for a little over a year went to the temple with her husband to receive their endowments and be sealed! They've been excited about blessing that since the April general conference, and they have been diligently preparing for it. This is the goal of all the missionary work we do!

The ward missionary coordination group started working on referring more people and places for the missionaries to visit, which has brought blessings and miracles as well. They also had a new member be baptized!

The ward a few months ago had a faithful young woman who had been attending church for quite some time make the decision to get baptized. One miracle was that her parents gave their permission for her to join the Church, and another is that they both came to her baptism and to her confirmation at church the next day!

The missionaries have a friend who was invited to church by some members, and now he has been coming to church consistently for quite a while and is starting to make progress with the missionaries in learning about the gospel!

Another friend who had been learning about the Church for a while made friends with many members and decided to be baptized! He was baptized this last week. In addition, the Christmas season has brought many more people to church activities and has opened many doors for missionary work.

A member who had been in the Church for almost two years was able to introduce her daughter to the Church. The daughter was planning on being baptized, but then a death in the family and some other circumstances came up that began to make getting baptized very difficult. The family realized that Satan was trying to get in the way of this important step and that the Lord wanted them to make it, so despite many challenges, the daughter was baptized!

Another friend received a priesthood blessing from two brothers in the ward, and he was healed!

The missionaries and members have been able to find and start teaching many people! Many members have been giving referrals and people to visit, which has made such a difference in how the missionaries have been received. The ward has had some great experiences with missionary work!

The ward helped fellowship and support a friend of the Church as he quit tobacco, and he was able to be baptized and to visit the temple soon after his baptism to be baptized for many close relatives!

The missionaries were also blessed to miraculously find a less-active part-member family while they were knocking doors trying to meet more people. The Lord has greatly blessed the missionaries and the ward!

Some friends who had decided not to meet with the missionaries any more have recently been turning around and are beginning to desire to learn about the Church again! The members of the ward are becoming more focused and centered on missionary work.

The missionaries had a friend agree to a baptismal date! She prayed about baptism and felt that she needed to get baptized. Her father (who has been a member of the Church for about three months) and another member helped share the gospel principles and the missionary lessons with her and really helped her prepare well.

The missionaries have also been led exactly to the right place at the right time to meet people who have been prepared to talk to them. The Lord is hastening His work!

A friend who has been fellowshipped by church members for quite a while came to the ward Christmas party and brought his wife and mother! They all had a positive experience there and made more friends at church.

The members in the ward have been doing missionary work more than ever before and have begun taking the lead! A friend was baptized a month ago, and many more friends are learning about the Church and attending activities.

The missionaries and members have seen the Spirit of God bring light to a new member who was baptized a week ago on Sunday. They also discovered a brother whose member record had been lost, so he was baptized, which opened a door for his wife to learn about the gospel and be baptized a few days ago as well! So many miracles have been taking place here.

The missionaries and members have been working together more! Multiple friends have joined the Church in the last handful of months, and new and old friends are being taught.

A new member was baptized in the ward a few weeks ago, and 2 others were baptized within the last couple of months. The missionaries have been seeing many friends make progress and come closer to making covenants with God!

The Lord blesses us with miracles as we act in faith to share His gospel and invite all to come and see, come and help, and come and belong. Invite a friend to come to church with you, and bring friends to see you speak, teach, and participate in Church meetings and events. As we reach out in faith and Christlike love, the Lord will continue to bring miracles and touch hearts through His Spirit!
